BBMC FAQ’s

What COVID measures will you have in place?

Whilst the event is held outdoors we still have a large number of people gathering at a single site. Many will feel they are unnecessary but in order to comply with our permissions from Landowners, Natural Resource Wales and the Welsh Government we need to implement certain measures at our Start and Finish sites.

Whilst these will be minimal we still feel they are important to not only protect the general public, some who may still be concerned but to also maintain the 24/7 operational capability of our Mountain Rescue Team. Many of our team members and volunteers on the day also work in Health Care settings so may be taking additional personal precautions.

This year will be strictly implementing the timed start system that we have had in place for over 10 years and our large Marquee will be open as much as needed to allow ventilation at the end of the event for refreshments.

Measures will be reviewed in accordance with advice from the Welsh Government as they change but will always be kept to the minimum required for the event to operate safely.

Are dogs allowed?

We welcome dogs on the BBMC. As we cross open farmland with grazing animals we ask that they are kept under control at all times.

I ordered a T-shirt when do I receive it?

T-Shirts and others items ordered are available for collection on the day of the event.

Can I transfer my place to someone else?

We unfortunately cannot change the names on entries as this invalidates our insurance. Places can be cancelled upto 6 weeks before the event with a refund, minus administration processing costs. After this time we can no longer offer refunds as set out in our terms and conditons when registering.

What is your cancellation policy if the event cannot be held?

By entering BBMC 2022 you are making a donation to Longtown Mountain Rescue Team, Charity no 518928. In the case that Local or National Government restrictions do not allow us to hold a physical event we reserve the right to transfer the event to a Virtual online event on the same date. In this case all entries will be transferred to the virtual event and no refunds will be applicable. You will be asked to accept these terms and conditions at entry.

I have tried to book and the event is full, do you have a waiting list?

We do not operate a waiting list after entries are full. If places are cancelled upto 6 weeks before then the event will re-open automatically until full again. We recommend checking the website regularly. We will advertise any availabel spaces on our website and social media.

I had a place booked for 2020 has it transfered?

After the 2020 Event was cancelled we contacted all entrants multiple times offering a refund, a transfer to a virtual event in 2021 or to donate their entry fee to the charity. If we did not hear from you, your entry fee has been entered as a donation. Therefore there are no transfered places for BBMC 2022.

Can I sell my entry as I can no longer attend?

Sadly we are unable to transfer places as it invalidates our insurance so if you buy an entry from someome else it will not be valid. If you have tickets for sale please return to your original email booking and request a cancellation and refund so they can be re-sold upto 6 weeks before the event.
