Presentation to Nick Huff

At Trekitt Mountain Sports shop in Hereford a presentation was recently made to Nick Huff in recognition of his fund raising efforts for the team.  Nick was presented with vouchers for Trekitt by one of its owners, Paul Trepte.  A number of team members also attended and Nick was also given a framed photo of the team by Mark Nicholls, team leader.  This year will be the 20th year that Nick has entered the Big Black Mountains Challenge, each time completing the 43km A route.  This is a fantastic effort in its own right but in addition Nick has also raised through being sponsored to complete the event, significant amounts for the team each year.

Three Peaks Trial

On the 27th March the team supported the Cardiff Outdoor Group in the running of the annual Three Peaks Trial.  On the day team members manned the summit checkpoints on each of the four challenging routes.  Over 800 walkers undertook one of the four routes, thankfully in dry conditions.  This is the second year that the team has been involved in the event and it is one that we greatly enjoy.

In 2009 nearly £3000 was raised from the 47th Three Peaks Trial and this was split between the Longtown Mountain Rescue Team and the Elenydd Wilderness Trust. The proceeds from the 2010 Three Peaks Trial will again be split between ourselves and the trust.
