Longtown MRT at Longtown Outdoor Education Centre!

Longtown MRT recently held a weekend training exercise based at Longtown Outdoor Education Centre. Over 30 members attended and we spent Saturday covering medical triage issues, use of search dogs and working with RAF rescue helicopters. On the Sunday a large scale exercise took place that involved search and rescue of 10 casualties over a large area of Mynydd Llangynidr. Four SARDA (South Wales) search dogs were used and we were also lucky to have RAF Rescue Chivenor with us who assisted in searching for casualties and deployment of some of our Team members using ‘Sea King 169’.

We’d like to thank SARDA (South Wales) for organising the Sunday exercise, 22sqn RAF Chivenor and Longtown OEC whose excellent facilites and support contributed greatly to the success of the weekend.
