Welcome
Longtown Mountain Rescue Team consists solely of volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The team can be called out in response to a request from the police to any incident where the expertise of the team is required.

Mountain Safety
The team has provided these simple guidelines and advice which will hopefully allow you to safely enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Black Mountains.
Call Outs
The team responds to an average of 30 callouts a year. Callouts can be for any situation where the police think our expertise is required, this has been as diverse as crashed gliders to lost school children.
